the end of days

Sorry. I know I'm supposed to keep things lighthearted around here. I guess most of us have heard about the shootings at Virginia Tech by now. Upwards of 20 people were killed today. Maybe it's because I'm a mother now, but I can't help thinking of the anguish of the families of those who are now dead. I guess we'll find out who the shooter was, but I don't know if we'll ever know why those lives were taken. I just hope they find their way back home.

It is after we have children that we can truly realize the pain that would come with the loss of that child. It sobers us and makes us more aware and careful but we must guard against being over-protective as well. We can only mourn with the families in question here today and feel gratitude that it didn't involve us. Not yet....hopefully never.

Thanks, M'Lou. You made me cry. There's over 30 dead now. Such a senseless tragedy.

I'm speechless, except to say God Help Us.

We can pray for strength for the
families in their time of sorrow,
and live each precious moment with
thanksgiving.
