Oof

Lily and I have had quite a day! I hope I remember everything! Let's see... I had an eye exam this morning. The doctor had fun trying to move things around with Lily hanging onto them. :) She did that light test where you follow the light with your eyes and apparently Lily passed too. yay! I'm sorry Pedro but the only sunglasses that looked good on me were Prada. Consider them an anniversary gift. *sweet smile* Then we went to Whole Foods. yummmmm

Then Lily did some more practice walking in the livingroom. She likes hanging onto the elliptical machine. She turned to look at me and let go and stood on her own power for about 5 seconds. Then I should have yelled, "timber!". Down she went. She took a hit from part of the machine that doubled her over so her head landed on the floor first. What did our princess do? Got up to try again! At standing, probably, not falling over. :) I checked her out and she seemed fine.

Okay, so that was fun. Then we had to go on another trip to the grocery store. It was pretty uneventful (except for all the people telling Lily how cute she is) until checkout. Lily's getting good at taking off her hat. I put it back on her head because we were about to leave and I didn't want her to lose it. She gave me this look and reached up all sassy like to whip it off of her head again. Well, as they say, pride goeth before a fall and our little princess poked herself but good in the eye. So now she's screaming in the checkout line. Fortunately, she had been making eyes at the man behind me (he encouraged her in a round of peekaboo) so I lifted her up and kissed her and showed her to the man behind me. I told him she had poked herself in the eye and he told her "you poked yourself in the eye? that hurts" So she smiled for him. Crisis averted!

She is getting over her stranger anxiety. Some people she positively beams for. I can see the corners of her mouth turning up around the pacifier. :) I'm so looking forward to tomorrow. I'm marinating my chicken tonight, for the thai peanut chicken, which I'm going to grill on kebabs with some peppers and sweet onion. Then I'm making coconut rice. Pedro will be in charge of the hotdogs and hamburgers. I bought a lovely fruit tart with blackberries, blueberries, raspberries & strawberries. I think it's supposed to look a bit like the american flag. I know Whole Food's fruit tarts are yuuuummmmmmy!

Have a happy 4th! And a happy belated Canada Day to my Canadian homies!

Thanks for yet another Blog posting. I know that it is an effort but it is soooooo appreciated.

You were describing the food you were preparing for today and I wondered what the big deal was and then you clued me in. I enjoy Canada Day and then totally forget that July 4th is a biggie for our neighbours to the south. July 4th is a nothing day to me. But you folks have a good time celebrating.

I am going to slowing plug away at some things that need doing and try to avoid getting sprayed in the process. :)
